Members Newsletter February 2006

The Editors Page

I would like to start by wishing all our members a Happy Ney Year. It's been a very good and busy start to the year. Last October Liz and myself were involved in the making of a TV programme called B & B the Best|. This programme was centred on the accommodation available at the Raptor Foundation. A film crew spent four days at the centre filming us improving the accommodation to enable us to get a grading. At the end of the four days an assessor came in to grade our B & B. We were over the moon when we got a grading of three stars. This programme was shown on TV on Thursday 2nd February and since then we have been inundated with bookings. So the four very long and hard days of filming were well worth it. Although I wouldn't want to become an actor, I don't think I could cope with the number of takes required for each scene. Especially when they say "that was great, but can you do it again". You don't know how frustrating that can be.

Special Thank You's

We would like to thank Elliot Wheeler for raising £100 by selling Terramundi pots. Elliot is one of our Junior Raptors and is continuing to raise money for us.

We would like to thank John and Jane Jeffrey for donating £500 to enable us to buy Telemetry (used to track birds), we can now fly our new Eagle and other birds away from the centre.
