How You Can Help Us

The simplest way you can help us is by making a donation to the charity. You can donate by contact us by phone (we are able to accept all major credit cards), by post (please make cheques payable to "The Raptor Foundation") or make a donation when you visit us. Currently, we are not able to take donations online ourselves, but you can donate online through The Big Give.

Gift Aid

If you are a UK resident paying income tax, then we can make the most of your donation by reclaiming the tax you have paid on your donation through Gift Aid. If you are able to make a Gift Aid donation, you can find a printable Gift Aid Declaration form here.

Leaving A Legacy / Setting Up A Trust

Another way that you can help us is by making a bequest to The Raptor Foundation in your will. In addition to benefiting the charity, the donation may benefit the inheritors of your estate as charitable donations are removed before Inheritance Tax is calculated.

There are two ways bequests are usually made, either a residuary bequest donating some or all of the remainder of your estate after all of your family & loved ones are provided for; or a pecuniary bequest, where you pledge a specific amount.

Another way that you can benefit The Raptor Foundation, is by setting up a Trust in our name. The Trust can benefit us both during your lifetime and afterwards and, again, may reduce your exposure to Inheritance Tax.

If you are considering making a legacy to us or setting up a Trust, then you should seek help from a solicitor, or other professional body, to ensure that your wishes are properly dealt with. Information about writing a will is available from the Charity Explorer website, published by the Law Society's Gazette.

eBay / MissionFish UK

If you sell through eBay, you can now opt to make a donation of a portion of the selling price to the Raptor Foundation. eBay have teamed up with MissionFish UK to simplify making donations to registered charities, including reclaiming GiftAid. The Raptor Foundation has registered with MissionFish UK to enable you to donate to us.

Check out current sellers donating to the Raptor Foundation here.

Recycling

Linked with a local recycling centre, The Raptor Foundation can receive donations for any empty ink & cartridges from your home or work computers. In addition we can also receive donations for old light bulbs of any type.

The Big Give

The Big Give

We are registered with The Big Give, an organisation which provides different ways in which individuals & businesses can make cost effective online donations to charities. Donations can be made through the link to us here.

In addition, you, or your company, could help through our adoption and sponsorship schemes.

Other than financial help, if you are able to give up a little of your spare time, you could become one of our volunteers.

Corporate Sponsorship Opportunities

Promotional opportunities for businesses from corporations to individuals in the form of gold, silver and bronze packages are an innovative way for companies to positively project themselves and in doing so help secure the vital work of The Raptor Foundation.

Adoption Scheme

The adoption scheme enables individuals or companies to adopt the bird of prey of their choice by contributing to their financial upkeep over one year.

Adoption of a bird by an individual currently costs £55 per year. The adoptee will receive a framed photograph of the adopted bird, an adoption certificate and their name will be displayed by the bird of their choice. In addition they will receive one years free family membership. (Printable Booking Form)

Contact The Raptor Foundation for details of corporate sponsorship.

Fundraising Events

A series of events take place throughout each year to promote awareness to the work undertaken by the Foundation and to raise the funds needed for the ongoing projects aimed at establishing it as one of the leading raptor centres in the UK.

We can also be seen out and about in the local towns making street collections, often accompanied by some of our birds.

The Raptor Foundation would also be pleased to come along to your own fundraising events. We can provide either static or flying displays for any of your own events.

Flying Team

Volunteers

Being a volunteer at The Raptor Foundation offers not only the satisfaction of helping a worthwhile cause, but also affords the privilege of getting close to the birds and gaining an insight into and understanding of birds of prey. We aim to fully involve all of our volunteers in all aspects of The Raptor Foundation, from cleaning the birds in the morning, to helping out with flying displays during the day and finally feeding and putting the birds to bed at night. If you feel you would like to help out as a volunteer, please contact us. You should be prepared to put in some hard work, but you will find the experience very rewarding.

Volunteers are welcome to help out in all aspects of day-to-day running of The Raptor Foundation. We need people to help out in the Gift Shop and around the site, as well as helping out with the birds. If you have any particular skill that you may think will be of help, please contact us.
